A World Without Music

A user experience project for Patagonia Instrument Project

INTRODUCTION

A two pronged approach to a good cause, utilising user experience in the form of an interactive poster campaign and updated donation page with purposeful UI design.

Triptych of posters showing a young man mimicking playing an air guitar with text advocating musical instrument donations for children in Patagonia.

THE CHALLENGE

To communicate the emotional impact of music absence and motivate action rather than passive awareness.
Current applications were hard to find and difficult to navigate. The response needed to grab the attention of users, and keep it.

THE APPROACH

The experience centered around the 3D decoder campaign, revealing the world both with and without music, when viewed through different crafted physical lenses.
This physical interaction acted as the entry point to a redesigned webpage, guiding users clearly towards donating.

THE OUTCOME

A cohesive physical/digital system that translated emotional contrast into meaningful action.
By combining interaction, narrative, and clear user flow, the project reframed awareness as participation rather than observation.
